What type of analysis do you need to do? Who are the stakeholders you need at the table? How do you create a process to succeed in getting the room purchased?

Purchase: Simulation Room

You are a director of the quality improvement department for a large trauma center. For your department, you feel there is a need to purchase a full-scale simulation room. This simulation room would be outfitted with the latest tools and simulations for wound management, sterile surgical process, infection control, and line placements. The overall goal would be to decrease reinfection rates. The capital need for the simulation center is $500,000, producing a decrease in cost for reinfection rates of $120,000 per year.

Examine the implications of ethical, legal, and regulatory policy issues on health care information systems.

Week 5 Assignment

Course Objective for Assignment:

Examine the implications of ethical, legal, and regulatory policy issues on health care information systems.
Assume that you have been hired as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) by a local healthcare organization which has no health information privacy and security policy yet. Thus, your first assignment is to formulate a health information privacy and security policy for the organization in accordance with the HIPAA and HITECH Privacy and Security Rules. Before the development of the privacy and security policy document, your supervisor advises you to review the HIPPA and HITECH Privacy and Security regulations the organization is required to comply with.

In light of the HIPAA Security Rule, discuss whether the HIPAA Security violation occurred or not, and why you think so? Provide a review of this incident’s consequences for the organization. Offer a preventive measure to implement to avoid similar issues in the future.

Week 5 Discussion

In your organization, a laptop containing patient information was stolen. The laptop was password protected but the health information of the patients in it was not encrypted.

In light of the HIPAA Security Rule, discuss whether the HIPAA Security violation occurred or not, and why you think so? Provide a review of this incident’s consequences for the organization. Offer a preventive measure to implement to avoid similar issues in the future.

What is the overall study or data about? What is the title of the chart that correlates with the study? Which type of chart is used to present the data, and why do you think it was chosen? Define the variables and major findings from the data.

HA 535- 6A

Locate research studies related to your research topic (abused children/trauma) that have data presented as charts.
You may also use these two sites (list sites) and explore charts that have visualized their data in a more public format:

  • https://libguides.utoledo.edu/health_stats/data_visualization

Analyze and discuss the graph or chart you have chosen. (Note – you must choose a graph or chart in a journal article for your research topic, as a graph or chart is required in the final week 8 research poster).

1. Paste an image of the graph or chart into your paper
* State the name of the graph or chart
* State the title/author/description of the study and chart
* Include a citation under the graph and in the References page.

2. In a 2- to 3-page paper (not including APA reference page), evaluate the data you found:
* What is the overall study or data about?
* What is the title of the chart that correlates with the study?
* Which type of chart is used to present the data, and why do you think it was chosen?
* Define the variables and major findings from the data.
* Have there been updates to findings of this data, and if so, who made them and are they reliable?
* What did you learn about data presentation from your analysis that could be useful in your career or future research?

What is meant by gateway substances? What is one example of a gateway substance? What is wrong with assuming that using a gateway substance causes an increased use of other substances? Define gateway substances Provide an example of a gateway substance Describe why the assumption is wrong.

Example questions

1. In terms of substance use, what is meant by risk factors and protective factors? Provide at least two important examples of each. Define risk factors Define protective factors Give two examples of each

2. Explain the difference between physical dependence on a drug and psychological dependence on a drug. Define each and then provide the differences

3. There are many different routes by which drugs can be administered. Describe the pros and cons of the oral route versus the intravenous route. For each Oral and IV routes, provide pros and cons.

4. What is meant by gateway substances? What is one example of a gateway substance? What is wrong with assuming that using a gateway substance causes an increased use of other substances? Define gateway substances Provide an example of a gateway substance Describe why the assumption is wrong.

Create a presentation using a presentation software (Google Slides, Powerpoint) on the healthy living topic, presenting the students findings from their research.

Healthy Influence Project Presentation

Project Purpose:
 -To identify, research and present a healthy living idea/topic
 -To provide students and opportunity to learn about something that interests them
 -To educate fellow students regarding healthy topics and to ‘influence’ them regarding health and wellness related topics

Project Description: The Healthy Influence Project Presentation consists of students choose a healthy living topic or idea, and then researching this topic, idea, or frame of mind. Students will use their research to create a presentation to ‘influence’ their peers regarding this topic. This is a very creative project, and should be fun and interesting. Project topics/ideas can be in a variety of health and wellness topics; For example “Health Benefits of Yoga,” “Is caffeine good for us?” (Just examples, don’t use these ideas!).

Students Will:
o Choose a healthy living topic/idea
o Submit this topic during Week 6 in a Discussion Post
o Research this topic/idea
o Create a presentation using a presentation software (Google Slides, Powerpoint) on the healthy living topic, presenting the students findings from their research. This should have about 7-10 minutes worth of content with a reference page.
o Post your presentation in a discussion forum for others to view, during week 10

Are the new models of integrated delivery systems in health care more beneficial to the providers or the consumers of the product or service?

Questions/ Repsonse

Question: Are the new models of integrated delivery systems in health care more beneficial to the providers or the consumers of the product or service?

Respond to students below.

Cierra Chantel Morgan

New models of integrated delivery systems in health care are more beneficial to most consumers compared to the providers or services because they offer medical services while still being affordable. Consumers save money in the long run and can also still get care close to them. Although the new system is more cost-effective, it reaps the benefits in the long run. Development and implementation of these models are expected to result in better health care, health care services, and changes in how health care is distributed, purchased, and paid for.

Jada Aaliyah Maclin

Integrated delivery systems refer to a network of healthcare organizations under a company. So, an IDS includes a number of healthcare facilities managed by a organization. An IDS is equipped to provide healthcare services to patients. The combination of different healthcare facilities helps IDS use resources more efficiently reducing the cost of healthcare. It improves quality of health care. Patients are able to assist a wide range of high-quality services under the same system at a lower cost. So, this system is more beneficial to consumers than providers.
