Argument

For your final essay, you will take a position on a topic and defend it. Choose one of the topics listed below, determine your stance on it, and then argue for why your stance is valid using logical reasoning as well as outside research.

Topic Options:
What should the legal drinking age be?
Is online learning as effective as face-to-face learning?

In your thesis, provide you direct position on your chosen topic. Before your thesis, in the introduction, make sure to contextualize the topic, considering the conversation already going on around this topic question, before stating your claim and evidence claims in that thesis statement. In the body of your essay, you will provide specific reasons as to why your stance is valid by examining and arguing for each evidence claim in more detail.
You will conduct research to evidence your claims and include three outside sources to help back up your own logical reasoning; one source should be chosen from the list below that corresponds to your chosen topic, and the other two should be found yourself. Source information should appear in each body paragraph, and sources should be credible and properly cited.
Format your essay using standard MLA formatting and include a Work Cited page for the sources that appear in the essay. Please double and triple check your margins, spacing, page numbers, font, etc. This paper should be no less than 1,000 words and no more than 1,200 words.
You will be submitting this online under the Essay 3 assignment in the Modules tab in Canvas.
