Why are Blacks dying at higher rates from Covid-19

Rashawn Ray’s article, “Why are Blacks dying at higher rates from Covid-19,”   Meaning that the black community has “less” resources such as “healthy food options, green spaces, recreational facilities, lighting, and safety.”

In addition, many black people do have jobs, such as Ray states, where they can be janitors, food services, bus drivers, retail stores, etc. The aftermath of when the lockdown started caused many of them to lose jobs and having to work through the pandemic to gain some money.

What might be some of the limitations of this sampling approach? What are some potential ethical implications to using a convenience sample?

It is not unusual for researchers to use a convenience sample for their study. Consider a study in which the researcher would like to determine how parents working with their children on homework influence the child’s school grades.

PERSONAL JURISDICTION ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

The plaintiff, Lulu Keane, was the mother of Richard Nance. Both of them lived in California for their entire lives. Richard purchased a life insurance policy from Texas-based Sovereign Insurance Company and named Lulu as the beneficiary.

Sovereign advertised in the State of California and entered into its life insurance contract with Richard in California. Richard is currently Sovereign’s only customer in the state of California.

Richard dies and Sovereign refuses to pay Lulu the proceeds from Richard’s life insurance policy. Lulu sues Sovereign in California state court, but Sovereign argues that the court lacks personal jurisdiction over the company.

Explain whether the California state court can exercise personal jurisdiction over Sovereign consistent with the Due Process Clause. You do not need to discuss California’s long arm statute because it reaches to the full extent that the Due Process Clause allows.
